Ohhh yay I like this one
1. The Giver by Lois Lowry
2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (book 7 is my fave, but that one is too sad for deserted island reading)
3. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
4. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
5. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
(I can’t put any raven cycle on this list because I would need to have all four with me and… that really limits my list of options. I’m sure you all understand)
*Ask me my top 5/10 of anything*
1. The mayor (Chaos Walking)
2. Colin & Piper Greenmantle (The Raven Cycle)
3. Voldemort (HP)
4. Eli (Vicious)
5. Count Olaf (Series of Unfortunate Events)
(I should apologize at this point because like every single one of these lists is going to include The Raven Cycle)
I’m going to do my top 5 bookish OTPs, instead of all around OTPs just cause
Oh goodness that’s so mean to take Hogwarts away as an option…
1. Henrietta, Virginia (The Raven Cycle)
2. Red London (A Darker Shade of Magic)
3. Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types (Lumberjanes)
4. Le Cirque des Rêves (The Night Circus)
5. Velaris (ACOTAR)
6. Camp Half Blood (Percy Jackson)
7. Venice (The Thief Lord - I know this is a real place… like I have been there. But my love of Venice began with this book so I’m counting it)
8. Tronjheim (The Inheritance Cycle)
9. Tu Reviens (Jane, Unlimited)
10. Prague (Daughter of Smoke and Bone - again, a real place. But the descriptions of Prague made me want to visit someday sooo badly so it also goes on the list)
I have a couple of favorite dragon books! I used to read them much more often than I do now, but I still have some that I adore. There’s Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke, which is basically the book that began my love of dragons. I also love Eragon by Christopher Paolini. There’s also a book called Pillage by Obert Skye that I remember being a lot of fun. Somehow those are the only dragon books I can think of?? Which is weird considering how much I love them??
Ohh, I could definitely recommend some contemporary books, as well as a couple fast paced/crime books.
Current contemporary faves:
Some thrillers you might like:
These are all pretty excellent books! Plus, I have to mention a book I recently read called Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore. It is coming out tomorrow (September 19th) and it is absolutely fantastic. It is a contemporary book, sort of. There is also an element of crime! But then it is also a bit fantasy, a bit sci-fi, maybe a tiny bit psychological horror… it is a weird, many genre-d book but I adored it and I can’t stop thinking about it. Happy reading!
I do! You can check out my channel right here.
Hey there! I know this response is a bit late, but I still wanted to give my answer and hopefully help some people out there looking for subscription boxes. First of all, I highly recommend you check out Cratejoy (link here). It is super useful for searching through subscription boxes to find one that will fit you best. There’s a whole book section!
On a more specific note, I’m a rep for a box called PageHabit (link here) and I think they have a really good selection of genres. There’s a YA option, and then the other genre options for the box are all adult releases. Other than that, Book of the Month Club (link here) would probably be a good pick. I’ve never gotten that one, but it’s relatively cheap and also you get to select which of the books you want beforehand which is awesome.
MyBookBox (link here) is also a good one! You get to select your genre for that box as well, and it comes with TWO BOOKS every month. I got that box a couple of times and I think it has some really fun items, plus there are generally some unexpected books that come inside.
Those are the ones I have specifically received or at least kept up on that I think are really great. Hope this helps! And definitely browse through CrateJoy if you are interested in subscription boxes because they have so much awesome stuff.
Yay! I’m so glad to hear this. I hope you love Dreadnought 😊
I haven’t read this! But thank you so much for the recommendation I 100% need to check this book out now.
An excellent question! I personally organize alphabetically by author’s last name, but only because not having an organization method would really stress me out. But if you love the way it looks messy and it doesn’t bother you, then let the mess grow!
Ohhhh I would but honestly there are already a few out there! I know Harry XMas to You is a thing that happens around the holidays. And thebookvagrant on booktube had one one year! But maybe next year when I reread the series I’ll have to have like a hashtag going… hmmm I will definitely keep that in mind when I’m figuring out when to reread the series in 2018!
Thank you so so so much for this ❤️❤️ I’m extending lots of love your way too!!
I have wanted to read Radio Silence so badly! It sounds incredibly up my alley. And I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews.
